Kennedy Wire Rope and Sling Company

Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling Co. was founded in 1979 in Corpus Christi, TX, with only eight employees and a small rented space. Many of Kennedy Wire Rope’s first employees came from E.L. Bearden Company, and they brought with them the knowledge and skills required to serve these markets. The company quickly grew in response to the demands of the industrial and oil & gas markets, which needed their rigging supplies and hardware.

By 1981, Kennedy Wire Rope had outgrown its initial location and purchased a much larger building on Flato Road. This new location had 24,000 square feet of space on five acres of land, which allowed the company to upgrade its equipment and expand its inventory of rigging supplies, hardware and fall protection equipment. With this additional space, Kennedy Wire Rope was able to take on larger jobs and offer in-house product testing services.

In addition to upgrading its equipment and expanding its inventory, Kennedy Wire Rope added another spooling truck. This truck allowed the company to offer on-site service work and inspection services, which further expanded its capabilities and made it a more attractive partner for customers in the industrial and oil & gas markets. Additional locations were opened in San Antonio and Houston to better serve customers. These openings created new positions and market expansion and allowed us to better offer rigging supplies and hardware to our growing customer base. Our facilities now hold over 80,000 square feet of operating space. As the company continues to grow and expand its offerings of rigging supplies, fall protection equipment, and electric chain hoists, its customers can expect the same level of quality and customer satisfaction that they have come to rely on over the years.
